Along with its various developments, this school presented a theory about imagination, according to which imaginary forms moved beyond the purely decorative aspect and approached the realm of intuition and illumination. This theory was based on four fundamental principles: naturalism, the unity of object and subject, discovery and intuition, and symbolism. Unlike classical poets, the romantic poet reaches truth not through the sky, but through nature. By immersing himself in the various manifestations of the universe, especially nature, he reaches a mystical unity with the world. In this unity of the object and subject, he experiences enlightenment, and finally turns to symbols to express his intuitive experiences. In this article, the author has attempted to examine and explain these four basic elements of romantic imagination in Sohrab Sepehri's poems. In our opinion, Sepehri's attitude towards facing nature and discovering the truth of existence is in line with the attitude of the Romantic poets of the 18th century Europe. To examine this artistic approach in Sepehri's poetry, we will first take a look at the theory of imagination from a historical perspective. ظهور مکتب رمانتیسم در قرن هژدهم، جهان‌بینی بسیاری از هنرمندان را دگرگون کرد و پایه‌های بنای عظیمی را بنیاد نهاد که تا روزگار ما همچنان به حیات خویش ادامه می‌دهد. این مکتب در کنار تحولات متنوع خود نظریه‌ای در خصوص تخیل ارائه کرد که براساس آن، صور خیال از جنبة تزئینی صرف خارج و به ساحت شهود و اشراق نزدیک می‌شد. این نظریه بر چهار اصل بنیادین استوار بود: طبیعت‌گرایی، وحدت عین و ذهن، کشف و شهود، و نمادگرایی. برخلاف شاعران کلاسیک، شاعر رمانتیک نه از طریق آسمان، بلکه از رهگذر طبیعت به حقیقت دست می‌یابد. او با استغراق در جلوه‌های گوناگون عالم هستی و به‌ویژه طبیعت به وحدتی عارفانه با جهان می‌رسد و در این وحدت عین و ذهن، اشراق را تجربه می‌کند و سرانجام برای بیان تجربه‌های شهودی خود به نماد روی می‌آورد. در این مقاله نگارنده کوشیده‌است این چهار عنصر اساسی تخیل رمانتیک را در شعر سهراب سپهری بررسی و تبیین کند. به نظر ما نگرش سپهری در مواجهه با طبیعت و کشف حقیقت هستی با نگرش شاعران رمانتیک قرن هژدهم اروپا همسو است. برای بررسی این رویکرد هنری در شعر سپهری ابتدا نگاهی به نظریۀ تخیل از منظر تاریخی خواهیم انداخت. https://www.qparsi.ir/article_234683_1db045b127046cebc16716a595db611c.pdf
