Sociological criticism of literature is a nascent science that seeks to study the influence of society on literature and vice versa. Kabab Ghaz is a humorous story that presents a critical image of Iranian society in the early 20th century. This research, using Goldmann's formative constructionism approach, examines the relationship between the structure of a literary work and the social structure of the time it was written. According to Lucien Goldmann's theory, literary works reflect the ideology of social groups. According to Goldmann, every literary work is the result of a free internal rationality that operates independently of the author's conscious intentions. In this analysis, the key concepts of Goldmann's theory, including worldview, possible consciousness, work value, character evolution, art and meaningful structure, have been studied. The results of the research show that Jamalzadeh portrayed the class conflicts and social anomalies of his time through characterization and humorous situations. Also, this story is a reflection of the world view of the critical intellectuals of that period who wanted social and cultural reforms. This article argues that Kabab Ghaz is not only a literary work, but also a social-historical document that provides a deeper understanding of Iranian society in the period of transition to modernity. The structural analysis of the story shows how Jamalzadeh has been able to make complex social issues understandable to the general audience in a simple and humorous way. In the end, this research emphasizes the importance of studying modern literary works in textbooks from a sociological perspective, because such an approach can help students better understand the social and cultural history of their country.
