Rumi’s Masnavi-ye Ma‘navi stands as one of the supreme manifestations of mystical poetry in Persian literature, where artistic structure and metaphysical insight converge to elucidate the notion of wahdat al-shuhūd (unity of vision). This study adopts an analytical–aesthetic approach to explore the manifestations of this unity through the poem’s symbolic imagery, mythic motifs, and allegorical narratives, with particular emphasis on the elements of mystical union. As one of the essential components of Sufi experience, the unity of vision permeates both the inner and outer structures of the Masnavi; even opposites—light and darkness, reason and love, earth and heaven—find meaning within the unifying horizon of Truth. Symbols such as light, music, water, garden, fire, color, and sweetness serve as aesthetic vehicles to express this unity across ontological, epistemological, and linguistic dimensions. Through examining these images and concepts, the study demonstrates that Rumi not only articulates the mystical experience of unity but also evokes it through refined expressive and aesthetic techniques. Ultimately, the aesthetics of unity in the Masnavi extends beyond thematic content, revealing itself in the very fabric of its structure and language.
